Trabi-UK, The UK’s specialist Trabant parts supplier is up and running again, having been acquired in March 2009 by Poole-based DDR vehicle enthusiast David Jones.

Current plans are to maintain a comprehensive selection of parts for the Trabant 601, with key service items such as brakes, ignition and carburettor parts, exhausts and clutches being held in stock at all times. A vast variety of other items are readily available from our suppliers in Germany, including parts for the other DDR vehicles built under the Wartburg and Barkas brands.

Although wholly independent, Trabi-UK maintains close links with the Wartburg Trabant IFA Club UK and Club members are given preferential terms of immediate despatch with an invoice to be paid upon satisfactory receipt of goods – very handy for those last minute panics!

Future developments will include full on-line shopping facilities – it’s going to be a bit of a long haul, what with vehicles needing attention, adventures to be undertaken and the demands of the day-job. Maybe it will have to wait until the evenings start seriously drawing in, but we’ll get there in the end!
